| Current Situation of Medical Resources in Emergency Departments of Tertiary General Hospitals in Beijing |

Abstract Objective To study the current settings，human resources and medical abilities of emergency departments of tertiary general hospitals in Beijing. Methods Questionnaires and telephone surveys were conducted in emergency departments of all non-military tertiary general hospitals in Beijing. The survey included the title, educational background of emergency doctors and nurses, technical skills carried out by emergency departments, annual emergency service, and emergency grading treatment. Results There were 32 tertiary general hospitals in Beijing, with an annual emergency service of （128.3±62.1）thousand visits, an average of （30.8±14.0）ctors and （76.2±34.6）nurses. The average turnover rate of doctors and nurses was 62.7% and 47.1%, respectively. Conclusion The development of emergency department in tertiary hospitals in Beijing is unbalanced, and the turnover rate of medical staff in emergency department is high.
