Abstract Sepsis shock is the common clinical problem of ICU critical patients.Sepsis can cause metabolic acidosis, but the physiological state of acidosis is not ideal, causing blood vessel elasticity decreased, myocardial depression. Bicarbonate is used to correct metabolic acidosis in patients with sepsis shock, but its applicable indications and curative effect is a controversial topic. This paper reviewed the current state of bicarbonate to sepsis shock acidosis and the effect of bicarbonate to various organ function such as lungs, heart and kidney.
