Abstract Snake bites, a tropical and subtropical emergency disease with characteristics of urgent onset and fast progress, has been regarded as a serious public health problem. Osteofascial compartment syndrome (OCS) is one of the serious complications induced by snake bites. Literature reported its morbidity was 0.54%. Although it’s low incidence, but if not timely make a diagnosis and treatment, it can cause amputation and even death. In recent years, the number of literature about snake bite-induced
OCS has been increased at home and abroad. To review the clinical diagnosis and treatment of the snake venom-induced OCS, lack of the systematically perfect diagnosis and treatment system, so we need to work together to establish a comprehensive system, as well as further exploration the new vision in diagnosis and treatment of the OCS after snake bites.
