Abstract Objective To investigate the expression of inflammatory cytokines in serum of sepsis patients with thrombocytopenia. Methods Collected sepsis platelet decreased in 10 patients, sepsis were not associated with platelet reduced in patients with 7 cases, healthy controls 7 cases, using an antibody chip to detect and analyze 34 related cytokines in serum. Results Sepsis without thrombocytopenia compared with healthy control group, part of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines up regulation, anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-17F, IL-21 and IL-6sR and anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 expression was down-regulated(fold change<0.67). Sepsis thrombocytopenia compared with healthy control group, the majority of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines expression were down-regulated; anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 expression was down-regulated(fold change<0.67). Sepsis thrombocytopenia group compared with sepsis without thrombocytopenia, most of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokine were up-regulated, anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-13, IL-10, GM-CSF expression were down-regulated(change fold<0.67). Conclusion Sepsis platelet reduce patients compared with sepsis without
