Application effect of Magnolia officinalis exhaust mixture in the rescue of acute organophosphorus pesticide poisoning |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of Magnolia officinalis exhaust mixture in the rescue of organophosphorus pesticide poisoning patients. Methods 102 oral organophosphorus pesticide poisoning patients were chosen from October 2015 to June 2017 in the emergency department. Patients were divided into two groups: the magnolia officinalis group and control group with 51 cases in each group. All patients were given comprehensive treatment accordance with the organic phosphorus pesticide poisoning treatment. In the Magnolia group laxative after houpupaiqi mixture orally or injected into stomach, 50 mL/time, after an interval of 6 h. The first defecation time, the frequency of defecation and the time of excretion of 24 h in the two groups were observed. The total amount of atropine used in the two groups, the length of stay and the effect of clinical treatment were observed, and the reaction of the drug was observed. Results The first defecation time, black stool time in Magnolia officinalis group were shorter than those in the control group (h: 10.1±4.6 vs. 12.1±5.4, 13.3±4.1 vs. 15.9±6.0, P<0.05), 24 h defecation times in Magnolia officinalis group was more than that in the control group (defecation time: 3.3±0.3 vs. 2.9±0.4, P<0.05); the total dose of atropine in Magnolia officinalis group was lower than that in the control group (mg: 67.1±21.5 vs. 80.8±22.7, P<0.05); at the end of treatment, the average hospitalization time in Magnolia group was shorter than that in the control group (d: 12.0±3.1 vs. 13.7±3.9, P<0.05), but the cure rate did not change significantly [90.2% (46/51) vs. 82.3%(42/51), P>0.05]; there were no drug related adverse reactions occurred during the treatment. Conclusion For the oral organophosphorus pesticide poisoning patients, Magnolia officinalis exhaust mixture can promote gastrointestinal peristalsis, promote gastrointestinal poison discharged as soon as possible, enhance the catharsis effect, improve clinical efficacy.
