Expression of D-dimer and high-sensitivity C reactive protein in patients with cerebral infarction after craniocerebral trauma and its prognostic significance |

Abstract Objective To analyze the expression of D-dimer and high-sensitivity C reactive protein (hs-CRP) on the clinical prognosis of patients with posttraumatic cerebral infarction (PTCI). Methods A total of 53 PTCI patients were recruited from 2011 to 2017, and the disease severity was assessed by Glasgow coma scale (GCS). Levels of hs-CRP and D-dimer were detected and the relationship with patient′s condition and death rate were investigated. And 77 patients of traumatic brain injury with no secondary cerebral infarction were as control. Results The expression of D-dimer and hs-CRP in PTCI patients increased significantly with the severity of the cerebral infarction. The value of D-dimer and hs-CRP in PTCI patients were (7015.3±402.6)μg/L and (505.3±10.7)μg/L respectively on the 7th day after surgery, while the value was (3866.7±201.2)μg/L and (278.7±17.4)μg/L in the control group. There was significantly difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis indicated that the expression of D-dimer and hs-CRP had interdependency with PTCI (OR was 1.061 and 1.019, respectively). Conclusion Level of D-dimer and hs-CRP are the important marker to evaluate the PTCI. And both of them may serve as a potential marker to the progressive and diagnosis of PTCI.
