Abstract Objective To evaluate the training results based on clinical process-oriented emergency airway management training. Methods The first-line on-duty physicians in the emergency department were selected and divided into study group and control group according to whether or not they participated in the based on clinical process-oriented emergency airway management course. Then test simulated clinical scenarios were used to evaluate the physician performance. Results 40 clinicians were included in the study, 19 in the study group and 21 in the control group. The study group was superior to the control group on the ventilation (4.37±0.93 vs. 3.62±1.25) and preventive intubation (4.37±0.93 vs. 2.90±2.02); preparation part: airway assessment part (4.37±1.56 vs. 1.48±1.79); preoxygenation (4.58±0.82 vs. 3.48±1.89) and pretreatment in the operative part (4.42±1.27 vs. 2.67±2.38) as well as the total score (84.84±11.63 vs. 76.67±11.52). Other parts of the two groups did not have statistically significant differences. Conclusion Based on clinical process-oriented emergency airway management courses can not only ensure the tracheal intubation skills training effect, but also cultivate trainees to master the reasonable clinical procedures. These courses meet the needs of competency in clinical better than the traditional courses.
